Building the shut-off system into a RTF-model

The shut-off system and a brand new model (Yuvenko: "Ukraine Combat")

The original bellcrank and safety wire

Cut the original bellcrank bar free

Push or knock the bar free

Pull the bar out

The bar is out and the bellcranck is free

Reinforce the covering with glass fiber tape

Cut new openings top and bottom

Cut away some of the wood in the center section
(a problem that will be solved with a minor change
in the construction of the next version)

Chamfer these edges to help the belcranck move with the spring

The upper part of the clamp is fixed to the spring

The shut-off goes into the model

The lower part of clamp is put on to the spring

- and put in place in the bellcrank

Tighten the screw with a hex key through the cutout for the pushrod

Same operation with an extended key

Ready to install the bottom plate. Notice the position of the spring!

Bottom plate in place

Locking the shut-off system with a M3 nut

Drill a hold for the wood screw

Put in the screew that will hold the bottom plate in the right position

Drill a hold for the wood screw in the upper part

This screw will hold the upper housing and the spring in the right position

Checking the position of the bellcranck

If necessary, adjust the position of the bellcranck

Cover the opening with tape. Leave some space fore the spring to move.

This hole can be covered completely

Cut the hole for the pushrod a little wider to allow the movement of the spring

Install the pushrod

New and original safety wire

With engine and fuel tank. The fuel tube is extended with some extra tube

The fuel tube pinched off by the spring

The spring is blocked by the lock

The lock is blocking the spring.
See a small video (divx, 1.1 Mb) with a demonstration of the lock
